Many Glasgow Rangers fans were far from happy with the performance of Ianis Hagi during their 2-2 pre-season draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

The Gers were in action in their third pre-season match against the Gunners at Ibrox, where 2,000 supporters were able to watch the clash unfold (rangers.co.uk). The 55-time Scottish champions twice took the lead, through Leon Balogun and Cedric Itten, but Nuno Tavares and Eddie Nketiah were both on hand to level things up for the north Londoners.

Hagi was selected by Steven Gerrard to start the match on the right wing, but it is fair to say the Romania international did not have the best day at the office. He struggled to have any real impact on the game, often looking lost, and was taken off just after the hour mark, his lack of any mention in the club's official match report an indicator of how quiet a day he had at the office.

These Gers supporters were not best pleased with what the £5.85m-valued 22-year-old (Transfermarkt) had to offer, and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts on his "awful" display.

"Itten should have started, I thought he was good when he come on, at least he offered us an outball that I didn’t think Defoe offered us. Hagi was awful"

"Yip Arsenal were always going to high press and Itten far better with long balls. Hagi got caught on the ball far too much, he should’ve put Wright in!"
