Steven Gerrard has taken to Instagram to respond to a post from Glasgow Rangers player Ianis Hagi.
Gerrard responds to Hagi
The Gers won 2-0 against Lech Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday, and Hagi managed to get himself on the scoresheet.
He took to the social media platform after the match to share a photo of the starting XI, and he added the caption:
Fantastic away win and delighted to be back on the scoresheet 💙. Heading into the knockout stages as group winners. 💪🏼
P.S. got my first official header tonight 😎
Gerrard than responded with a couple of emojis, appearing to show how he found Hagi’s post funny.
This interaction shows where the 54-time Scottish champions are at the moment. Despite not being one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment – the start against Poznan was Hagi’s first inclusion in the first XI in European competition in the last four matches, while he has been named on the bench in the last four league games as well – Hagi remains upbeat. He is under pressure to perform given the fanfare around his signature, but he does not appear to be letting that get to him, instead taking time to enjoy the small victories.
Have you been disappointed with Hagi so far?
Gerrard taking the time out to have a laugh with one of his players is also positive. This promises to be a gruelling season for everyone involved at Ibrox, and it is important to keep spirits high throughout.
