Glasgow Rangers target Daniel Johnson has committed his future to Preston North End, all but ending the Gers’ interest in the midfielder.
Johnson signs new deal
Johnson’s previous contract was set to run out at the end of this current campaign, and the Ibrox outfit were, therefore, linked with a pre-contract deal for the 28-year-old (Football Insider).
The Gers had been linked with a move for Johnson since the summer transfer window, with them even said to have made a £1.5m bid for his services (Lancashire Live). Now, though, they must go back to the drawing board as they look to bring in a player to add more creativity in the middle of the park.
Would you liked to have signed Daniel Johnson?
Johnson is a player with plenty of ability. Last season, he impressed in the Championship, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists (Transfermarkt). This term has not been as successful, but he still has three of each in 21 matches in the league, while he also netted in the League Cup.
In other news, Rangers fans are livid at this Alfredo Morelos update.
