According to Football Insider, Ryan Kent has yet to agree to a new deal at Glasgow Rangers following his change of agent last year.
Kent agreement struggles
The Gers are eager to offer the winger a new contract, with them even willing to put him amongst their top earners at Ibrox.
However, their attempts to do so have hit an obstacle. Last year, Kent changed his representation, which apparently has made it a bit more difficult to strike a new agreement.
Hopefully gets sorted
Kent is a prized asset at Rangers. Signed for £7.5m from Liverpool in 2019 (Sky Sports), he was the subject of a £10m offer from Leeds United in the summer (RTE), and he is even now said to be valued at around £18m (The Athletic). He has been in top form so far this campaign, racking up six goals and 11 assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt), and although his level has dropped off a little in recent weeks, he was still called “fantastic” by former Gers manager Alex McLeish after his side’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell (Ibrox News).
Will Kent sign a new contract?
Kent is now being represented by his family – as such, you would think they would have his best interests at heart. Hopefully, this current stumbling block will only delay a new contract for the 24-year-old with the 54-time Scottish champions – the last thing that anyone connected to Rangers needs right now is a distraction.
