Glasgow Rangers fans have been reacting to a tweet from Tom English following the discussion between the 42 clubs in Scotland’s top four divisions and the SPFL.
This is a difficult time in Scottish football for everyone. The sport has taken a huge financial hit due to the pandemic, and it seems that help is not incoming as expected – the top four leagues were meant to receive a £20m bail-out from the government but that has yet to materialise (The Daily Record).
As such, there was a discussion held on Wednesday between said clubs and the governing body. Beforehand, the representatives of each team were told that if they had a question, they would be unmuted on the Zoom call so that they could ask it. However, BBC journalist English has revealed on Twitter that never happened.
Should Neil Doncaster resign?
The Gers supporters have been reacting to the news, and it is fair to say they were far from happy. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about the English reveal
“Embarrassing and utterly disgraceful from a corrupt organisation… THE SPFL !! #doncasterout”
“When does this farce of the SPFL ever end???? It’s gross negligence”
“Doncaster’s position is completely untenable”
“The governance at the top end of Scottish football is not so much stale bit rather rancid. I suspect they are trying to set a narrative to allow them to do something even more cataclysmic than last year.”
“Serious Q, Tom… Are you or anyone else surprised in the slightest? I also noted Neil Doncaster mentioning that 75% of matches were fulfilled last season while mentioning Null & Void wasn’t off the table this season. This is blatant & it’s corrupt. Things must change & soon.”
In other news, Rangers fans love a video of this former soap star.
