Glasgow Rangers fans have been reacting to the penalty given to St. Mirren during their 1-1 draw with Motherwell on Saturday, and it is fair to say they do not agree.
The Gers are currently top of the Scottish Premiership by a huge 22 points after their victory over Aberdeen on Sunday. With just 15 games left, the Ibrox outfit are surely within touching distance of claiming a first piece of major silverware since 2011, even if second-placed Celtic have four games in hands.
However, despite this success, the Gers are still having their say on what is happening at other clubs and in other matches. They clearly had an eye on the St. Mirren versus Motherwell clash, in which the former were given a very soft penalty. This comes after Jim Goodwin, the St. Mirren boss, called for referees to be “brave” enough to give penalties against Steven Gerrard’s side prior to their match against them at the end of December.
Are referees lenient towards Rangers?
The Gers were far from happy with the decision, a video of which was relayed by @joe_black1509 on Twitter. Said account referenced the comments from Goodwin, which lead to the supporters sharing their thoughts on the matter.
Let’s see what the Rangers fans had to say about decision below
“Can u imagine the meltdown if that was given in an old firm match”
“That’s a terrible decision”
“No penalty. Simple.”
In other news, Rangers fans are disgusted by this journalist’s comments.
