Glasgow Rangers fans are livid after the club decided to share a video of a goal from Steven Naismith against Gretna.
Naismith spent five years at Ibrox, helping the club win three Scottish Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup and two Scottish League Cups. They also reached the UEFA Cup final with the Scotland international in the team. However, he is a deeply unpopular figure after comments he made when leaving the club in 2012. During a press conference, he revealed he would not be joining the Gers in League Two after they went into administration as “Rangers Football Club no longer exists in its original form” (BBC).
Have you forgiven Steven Naismith?
On Wednesday, the club’s official Twitter account decided to share a clip of a goal from the 34-year-old as part of their Goal of the Day series – that did not go down well with the fans at all. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Naismith below
“Judas! No thanks.”
“You should know better. Smh.”
“Ruined his Rangers legacy with that press conference.”
“Oh no. Ohh no no no. *shakes head vigorously * no no no”
