Glasgow Rangers could be set to lose talented defender Jack Wylie after being scouted by two clubs in the Premier League, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Gunners scout Wylie

The 15-year-old isn’t eligible to sign a professional deal with the Scottish Premiership giants until his 16th birthday, and as a result, there are fears that he could be lured away from the Ibrox before that day arrives.

The full-back is believed to be one of the Light Blues’ standout academy players, with his impressive performances catching the attention of the Gunners who sent scouts out to watch him in action for Scotland’s U16s last month.

The Latest: Leeds enter the race

According to Football Insider, Leeds have now joined Arsenal ‘in the chase’ to sign Wylie, having ‘caught the eye’ of scouts from both clubs whilst playing for the Gers’ youth sides and internationally.

The Whites have ‘registered their interest’ in the teenager, and could have ‘the edge’ over their competitors to land him in January due to their excellent track record of developing young players.

The Verdict: After Wilson

Rangers only lost Rory Wilson to Aston Villa over the summer, but now it seems as if Wylie could be the next to follow in his footsteps and make the move to the top flight in the New Year.

The young ‘sensation’, as dubbed by journalist Pete O’Rourke, will find it hard to turn down such an exciting opportunity from either of his admirers.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side definitely won’t want to lose Wylie, but they aren’t likely to stand in his way should he feel that joining a household name will give him the best chance at progressing his career in years to come.
