The Lowdown: Van Bronckhorst sacked
The Scottish Premiership side sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Monday after winning just two of his last seven games in all competitions, meaning that the hunt for a new boss is officially underway.
Alongside Ralph Hasenhuttl and Sean Dyche, QPR’s head coach has been named as one of the favourites to take over after recently being spotted attending a game at the Ibrox, despite turning down the opportunity to join Wolves earlier this month.
The Latest: Jones’ comments
Speaking to GiveMeSport prior to Van Bronckhorst’s dismissal, Jones insisted that Beale will be facing a tough decision should he be contacted by Gers regarding the managerial vacancy. He said:
“There’s no doubt he’s going to be linked to this job again, if it does come up, but again, it will be about the ambition involved on both sides of it.
“I mean from Rangers is he a big enough appointment for the fan group? Also for Beale, is it enough to entice him away? He turned down Wolves and talked about loyalty to QPR and how it’s such a big trait to him. It’ll be very interesting to see whether he can stay loyal again if Rangers come knocking.”
The Verdict: Perfect candidate
Beale has been labelled an ‘expert’ by former Light Blues boss Steven Gerrard, and looking at his numbers, he could be the ideal man for the job.
Beale’s preferred formation is also a 4-3-3 attacking, and playing on the front foot is something that Rangers have been missing in some games, making this a move suitable for both parties.
