Journalist Pete O'Rourke has dropped a promising Glasgow Rangers contract claim involving Ryan Jack.

The Lowdown: Out of contract

The 30-year-old's contract at Ibrox is to set to expire next summer, meaning that he can leave as a free agent if a new deal is not signed by then.

O'Rourke previously reported that the player hopes to stay at Rangers, and he has now given an update on the personal terms which would need to be agreed with Jack to keep him at the club...

The Latest: Personal terms not an issue

Speaking to GiveMeSport, O'Rourke has claimed that personal terms should not be an issue with regards to negotiating a new contract for Jack, and that a deal could be signed 'quickly'.

The reporter stated: “I don’t think there’d be too much hassle or issue in this contract negotiation. I’m sure Ryan Jack will want to stay if Rangers want him to stay.

“I’m sure the player will quickly put pen to paper on this one, and if the player’s happy and the club are happy, it’s a deal that is pretty straightforward.”

The Verdict: Get it done

With just a few months left remaining on his contract, Rangers need Jack to put pen to paper as soon as they can, before interest possibly starts to creep up in the January transfer window.

The midfielder remains a key squad player for Giovanni van Bronckhorst, with 10 appearances in all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt), and he has played more than 160 matches for the club in total.

While Jack has unfortunately struggled with injury problems during his time with the Light Blues, he will be hoping to put those behind him now and play a big role for the team in the 2022/23 campaign.
