Ryan Jack put in a fantastic performance for Scotland against the Czech Republic as the Tartan Army won 1-0.
Impressive Jack display
Jack has not played too much football recently. After picking up a calf injury against Dundee United on September 12th, he has been involved in just 77 first-team minutes. Despite that lack of game-time, though, he was still selected by Steve Clarke for Scotland’s latest matches.
Clarke’s decision looks to have paid off. Against the Czechs, he completed all three of his attempted dribbles, whilst he won nine out of ten duels. Not only that, he completed six clearances and three tackles, all of which led to a 7.3 SofaScore rating. Following this win, Scotland remain unbeaten at the top of their UEFA Nations League group.
Perfect timing for Gerrard
Jack could arguably not have chosen a better time to return to form. This weekend, Rangers face Celtic in the first Old Firm of the season, and it could potentially define their campaign. Without a loss in their first 13 matches, Steven Gerrard will feel as confident as ever that his side can finally end their silverware drought. A defeat against their fierce rivals, though, would be a huge blow.
Will Ryan Jack start vs Celtic?
The £1.53m-valued former Aberdeen midfielder – as per Transfermarkt – is likely to start following his return to fitness. Following a display like this, there is little doubt that he should give Rangers a huge boost at Ibrox on Saturday.
