Rangers: Dean Jones shares ‘real concern’ at Ibrox -Rangers News

Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that a lack of signings for Glasgow Rangers in the summer window will now cause ‘real concern’ at Ibrox.

The Lowdown: Injuries mounting

Injuries are certainly piling up for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his team, with James Tavernier the latest casualty on the treatment table.

Tom Lawrence, Ben Davies, Kemar Roofe, Filip Helander, John Souttar and Ianis Hagi were all injury concerns before last weekend’s 4-0 thumping at the hands of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, leaving their squad relatively thin despite seven new signings in the summer transfer window.

The Latest: Jones on summer business

Speaking to GiveMeSport about the latest injury news, Jones has claimed that the Gers made a ‘lack’ of signings in the summer, adding that their lack of squad depth is ‘going to now cause real concern’ amid a poor run of form:

“I think the lack of additions is going to now cause real concern and they’ll be wondering how they balance out, not only the schedule they’ve got coming up, but what their strongest team is capable of.”

Can you guess these ex-Rangers players' nationalities? Let's get started... Florian Kamberi's country of birth is?

The Verdict: Worrying

The increasing injury list, coupled up with perhaps too few signings in the summer, is certainly worrying given the Light Blues’ consecutive 4-0 defeats, and the hectic schedule that they have coming up.

Should Rangers have hired van Bronckhorst?

Of course, they have also lost important players like Calvin Bassey, Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun as well, so Van Bronckhorst has had limited options to choose from in recent times.

Nonetheless, if a few players are able to return from injury soon, then it will be a big boost for the Teddy Bears going into their next set of fixtures.
