It looks like Steven Gerrard will have a tough time keeping some of his players at Glasgow Rangers as recent reports suggest that an English Premier League side are interested in defender Borna Barisic.
According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace have been keeping an eye on the defender and they are now very keen to make a move for him in the summer transfer window.
The left-back has also attracted the interest of Tottenham Hotspur as well as AC Milan but Palace seem the most keen as they are desperate to strengthen their defence.
The 27 year-old Croatian international has played 61 times for the ‘Gers in all competitions, scoring two goals along the way as well as keeping 31 clean sheets, per Transfermarkt. However, what is perhaps more impressive is the fact that he has also provided 18 assists and this highlights that he is a good influence for the Ibrox outfit at both ends of the pitch.
Given those figures, it is no surprise that Barisic has been a favourite of Gerrard at Ibrox, playing 39 times under the manager, and the ex-Liverpool captain should not look to sell the player unless the ‘Gers receive a crazy offer.
Should the club sell Barisic?
The 40-year-old needs the strongest squad possible to push for the Premiership title this season, so he cannot afford to lose players like Barisic who bring so much to the team.
‘Gers fans, what are your thoughts on the potential sale of Barisic? Let us know your views by commenting below!
