According to The Daily Record, Falkirk and Queen of the South have joined the race to sign Glasgow Rangers youngster Josh McPake on loan.
Northern Irish side Linfield, as well as Morton, have also been linked with a move for McPake, and now two other sides have entered the battle for his signature.
The Record says Queen of the South and Falkirk have made “ambitious” moves for the 19-year-old.
A short-term move away from Ibrox would not be the first such switch for McPake – he spent a period with Dundee last season, but that spell was unfortunately ravaged by injury, with him only managing seven appearances in the end.
All in all, he has featured just once for the Gers, in Europa League qualifying, and it does not look as though he will be an immediate part of Steven Gerrard’s plans moving forward. As such, a loan move would be of great benefit to his development. Falkirk would arguably be the better switch considering they are playing at a higher level.
Will Josh McPake make it at Ibrox?
Hopefully, McPake can earn himself a switch that will allow him to improve in the future.
