As per Fanatik, former Glasgow Rangers target Caleb Ekuban has been targeted by one of the Ibrox club’s main rivals.
However, it is their fierce city rivals that have made a concrete move for the 25-year-old, with Celtic offering €5m (£4.5m) for his services. The Ghanaian’s current club Trabzonspor, though, are looking for €7m (£6.3m) before considering the sale of their player.
As early as March, the ‘Gers were said to have been looking for a replacement for Morelos, but it is hard to see why Ekuban would be the man to come in for the Colombia international. With the Turkish club, he has managed just 18 goals in 70 matches, a far from prolific return.
Would you like to sign Ekuban?
He has scored twice in four caps for Ghana, but other than one season in the Albanian top flight, he has never managed more than 10 goals in a league campaign. For a fee of €7m (£6.3m), that surely makes him far too much of a risk.
Fortunately for the ‘Gers, they appear to have dropped their interest in the striker.
