According to Get French Football News, Lille are not planning any more major incomings this during this transfer window, which should spell the end of their interest in Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombia international appeared close to a move to the Ligue 1 outfit earlier on this summer, with him reportedly even agreeing personal terms with Les Dogues.

However, it now seems that Lille, who will play in the Europa League this season, have given up in their pursuit of the forward, with them not planning to make any more big signings this summer.

It would be interesting to find out exactly how Steven Gerrard feels about this update - he may have mixed feelings. On the one hand, Morelos has 82 goals in 147 matches for the Gers, including five in nine already this season. He is a lethal forward, and at his best the Gers arguably do not have a better player in the squad.

On the other hand, the £13.5m-valued 24-year-old - as per Transfermarkt - has spoken about his interest in moving to a more prestigious league, and he even missed two games for the Gers when Gerrard chose not to select him. He may not stay beyond deadline day, but the speculation surrounding his future is unlikely to go away - the 54-time Scottish champions must make sure he does not become a distraction.

Either way, it looks as though Lille will not be his next destination.
