Glasgow Rangers: Lille owner confirms interest in Alfredo Morelos

Lille owner Gerard Lopez has confirmed that the Ligue 1 outfit are still looking at Alfredo Morelos despite the arrival of Jonathan David.
Les Dogues confirmed the capture of Canada international David on Tuesday, with them parting with €31.5m (£28.4m) to take him to France. They have been linked with a move for Morelos, as well, and are even said to have agreed personal terms with the Colombia international, but they have recently had a £16.25m bid rejected (The Daily Mail via The Scottish Sun).
Lopez, though, has confirmed his club still maintain an interest in Morelos. He explained to BBC Sport:
“Obviously Morelos is a good player.
“He’s part of a list of players we’ve looked at, but we’ve made a move for another player, so we have something like 11 offensive players for four spots now.
“He’s a player who is extremely effective and at this stage we’re watching, but nothing’s done.”
Lille may well be interested, but events over the past week or so could mean that any deal is in jeopardy. Victor Osimhen may have parted for a fee of around €70m (£63.2m), but almost half of that has now been spent on David, whilst the side have also found themselves in trouble in regards to breaches of FFP regulations.
Will Morelos still be at Rangers by the end of the transfer window?
Yes

No

As such, they may find it hard to match the Gers’ reported £20m price tag for their 24-year-old star striker.
