According to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell, there is no prospect of Alfredo Morelos leaving Glasgow Rangers ahead of the transfer window deadline.
The Colombia international has been constantly linked with a move away from Ibrox during this window, with him even said to have agreed personal terms with French side Lille.
However, that move has failed to materialise, and according to Campbell, it seems that the 24-year-old will remain with the 54-time Scottish champions.
It is somewhat of a miracle that Morelos looks like he will not be on the move this summer. The former HJK Helsinki man has spoken about being interested in a move to a more prestigious league, whilst he was even left out of the starting line-up for three successive games by Steven Gerrard and has been linked with several big European clubs.
Are you surprised that Morelos looks set to stay at Rangers?
Currently valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the Gers have reportedly been looking for £20m for their star man – it seems there has been a certain reluctance for any club to pay that kind of money. At the end of the day, though, Morelos is a massively important player for Gerrard – even in a stop-start campaign so far, the striker has managed five goals and three assists in 10 matches. As long as he is not distracted, he will no doubt have a big role to play between now and the end of the term.
