The Whites are set to sign Spain international Rodrigo, but that hasn’t cooled their interest in Kent.
They have already had a £10m bid rejected for the 23-year-old, and they are now reportedly looking to increase that by 50%.
The signing of Rodrigo will take the newly-promoted Premier League side’s spending to over £50m this summer, but they appear to be showing no signs of slowing down as they eye Kent, with another £15m taking their expenditure up to £65m+. That, though, will not be good news for Steven Gerrard, who will be desperate to keep one of his star players.
Would you be happy to see Ryan Kent leave Rangers?
After all, he has already scored three goals in his first five matches of the season, and with an average WhoScored rating of 7.84 he has been one of the Gers’ best players during this opening few weeks. If he were to depart, it would leave a big hole on the left side of Gerrard’s attacking trio – the 54-time Scottish champions must do all they can to keep the Yorkshire side’s hands away from the Oldham-born man.
