Glasgow Rangers have had a loan enquiry for Juninho Bacuna rejected by Huddersfield Town, according to Alan Nixon.
Now, Nixon has claimed they have made a move for Bacuna, initially on loan with an option to buy, but it has been rejected “at this point”.
Last season, 23-year-old Bacuna had a relatively good campaign with the Terriers in the Championship, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 38 appearances in the league – that is his most fruitful term from a scoring point of view to date.
Would you like to sign Juninho Bacuna?
He was signed for £2.25m from Groningen in 2018, and even made 21 Premier League appearances in his first season with Huddersfield – this indicates a certain amount of pedigree. Currently valued at £3.15m by Transfermarkt, Bacuna does have just one year left on his contract, albeit with a one-year extension option. It remains to be seen whether the 54-time Scottish champions decide to make another move for the Curacao international.
