As per The Athletic, Glasgow Rangers are interested in Sheffield United’s John Lundstram.
The Gers are said to be eyeing the 26-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract at Bramall Lane.
Burnley and West Ham are mentioned alongside the Ibrox outfit. As it stands, it is not clear how much a buying side would have to pay to secure the midfielder’s services.
Lundstram made the move to the Blades in 2017 and has since gone on to make 88 appearances in all competitions for the club. Last term, in the Premier League, he played a part in 34 games, scoring five times and providing three assists.
There have been calls from some quarters for the Gers to bring in another midfielder with creativity – that, though, is something Lundstram doesn’t have too much of. Last term in the English top flight, he averaged just 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per match, which is far from exhilarating.
Would you like to sign Lundstram?
Currently valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, the Gers will need to part with a decent fee to take him to Ibrox, and it is a move that makes little sense considering what they appear to need. Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson should look elsewhere.
