According to recent reports, Glasgow Rangers have been dealt a blow to their hopes of a summer swoop for central-midfielder, John Lundstram.
The report by Football Insider claims a source has revealed that the Sheffield United midfielder, whose contract with the Blades expires at the end of the season, will not consider a move to Ibrox this summer.
It is said that the £7.2 million-rated 26-year-old, who has featured in 18 of United’s 23 Premier League games this season, has ‘multiple offers on the table’, including some from Premier League sides, however, despite the midfielder claiming that his ‘future remains undecided’ at present, a move to Rangers – who had registered their interest in Lundstram – does not appear to be favoured by the former England U20 international.
Is this Lundstram news a blow for Rangers?

While news of Lundstram’s apparent lack of enthusiasm at the prospect of a move to Glasgow will undoubtedly come as a blow to many associated with Rangers, if Premier League clubs are indeed interested – as is reported – in a move for the midfielder, it is not overly surprising that he would prefer to remain in the English top flight.
As such, if Steven Gerrard still wishes to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the park this summer, it now appears as if he will have to turn his sights elsewhere as any deal for the Sheffield United man seems to be off the table.
