Many Rangers fans have been left buzzing as a transfer update emerged on Santos Borre.

As per Football Insider, the Glasgow club have set their sights on signing the River Plate ace in just a couple of weeks, as he is out of contract at the end of June.

The Argentine outfit valued him at £15m, but now look very likely to lose him for nothing.

Sources from the Ibrox faithful have told the news outlet that this has alerted the Light Blues, who now have a concrete interest in a deal in the summer window.

However, Steven Gerrard's men will face competition from a number of other teams for Borre's signature.

The striker has played senior men's football since he was just a teenager, and has since played no fewer than in 212 games in total over the course of his club career, including at UEFA Europa League winners Villarreal (Transfermarkt).

Borre has scored 74 goals and made a further 23 assists in those matches, and has even been capped four times at senior international level with Colombia (Transfermarkt).

An international teammate of Alfredo Morelos, he could link up very well with the forward, and at 25 years of age, has still not reached his peak yet.
