# Rangers: Former player Alan Hutton backs club to sign Florian Kamberi

**Former Rangers man Alan Hutton has backed the outfit to complete the permanent signing of Florian Kamberi in the summer.**

The on-loan Hibernian man joined the club in the January transfer window after he was signed as a replacement for Jermaine Defoe [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51320705). Following the move, he professed his love for the Ibrox outfit, claiming that it was his [‘dream’](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51320705) to play for the team since moving to Scotland.

Hutton did admit he was shocked the club made a move for the player, however, has seemingly changed his tune and has now backed his old side to sign him, despite the [lack of a clause to make his move permanent](https://www.footballinsider247.com/major-update-on-rangers-signing-kamberi-permanently/).

He said: “I think so, I don’t see why not. He’s come in, hit the ground running and done really well. He’s made a difference when he’s come off the bench, you can really see why they brought him in. I did raise my eyebrows as well, like a lot of people, when he came in, I found it a strange one.”

“…I think he’d be a good addition, you never know with the likes of Morelos what’s going to happen in the summer. I think that would be a good option for Rangers going forward.” [(Source: Football Insider)](https://www.footballinsider247.com/ibrox-exclusive-hutton-tips-rangers-to-open-transfer-talks-for-top-flight-25-yr-old/)

Given the lack of goals from [Alfredo Morelos](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdaten/spieler/338962) of late and the fact that Defoe is now 37-years-old, it would be a smart decision to complete a permanent move for the Swiss-born forward, who is just 25-years-old. As Hutton has pointed out, Kamberi has made a difference during his short time with the club and was crucial in Rangers snatching a point away to [St Johnstone](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3201780) as he notched up a goal and assist in the 2-2 draw.

More to the point, if you want to sign a player, it might as well be someone who is seemingly in love with the club and who has already settled in. That seems to be the case with the £675k-rated, [as per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/florian-kamberi/leistungsdaten/spieler/284020), striker, who has shown how much he values Steven Gerrard’s side with his comments upon his arrival back in [January](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51320705).
