# Rangers: Lille remain keen on Alfredo Morelos

**[According to The Scotsman](https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/rangers/six-rangers-players-who-are-likely-attract-interest-or-be-moved-during-january-transfer-window-3084725), Lille remain interested in a move for Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.**

### **Lille monitoring Morelos**

Lille, who are currently [second](https://www.skysports.com/ligue-1-table) in Ligue 1 on goal difference and are still in the Europa League, were heavily linked with a move for the Colombia international during last summer’s transfer window – they were said to have [agreed personal terms](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-transfer-rumours/glasgow-rangers-alfredo-morelos-reportedly-agrees-to-join-ligue-1-side-lille/) with the [£13.5m-valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/marktwertverlauf/spieler/338962) 24-year-old (Transfermarkt), while they also had a [£16m bid rejected](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/glasgow-rangers-morelos-bid-confirmed/).

The Scotsman has been discussing players who will attract interest this January, and while they admit it is unlikely Morelos will depart this month, Lille are still monitoring his situation north of the border.

### **May be worth selling**

Given his impressive scoring record at Ibrox – he has [85](https://www.transfermarkt.com/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962) goals in 164 games for the 54-time Scottish champions – the Gers were eager to hold on to Morelos as they resisted the temptation to sell last summer. However, this campaign, the striker has just [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.com/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962) goals in 26 games despite the Gers losing only [once](https://www.skysports.com/rangers-results) in all competitions.

His temperament has got the better of him on occasion, as well. He has been involved in altercations with Scott Brown in both Old Firm derbies, while Steven Gerrard has [spoken out](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8975275/Steven-Gerrard-baffled-Alfredo-Morelos-fury-substituted-Rangers-beat-Aberdeen.html) against his attitude when being substituted. It is getting to the point where he is becoming far more trouble than he is worth – another £16m offer could well force Ross Wilson’s hand.
