# Rangers: Ciaran Dickson could cross Old Firm divide as shock image emerges

**Former Glasgow Rangers midfielder Ciaran Dickson has been pictured holding a rival club’s shirt ahead of a shock potential transfer.**

### **The Lowdown: Dickson departs Ibrox**

The youngster [left Ibrox](https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ciaran-dickson-among-10-rangers-20769076) earlier this summer after making just a single first team appearance for the 55-time Scottish champions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/ciaran-dickson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/567123)).

It looked like he could be [on the move to Burnley](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/burnley-transfer-news-ciaran-dickson-21206871) in the Premier League earlier in the summer, but it seems there has been a late development.

### **The Latest: Dickson holds Celtic shirt**

[Glasgow Live](https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ciaran-dickson-leaked-celtic-signing-21439429) have shared a story involving the future of the 19-year-old.

They have included a photo of Dickson at Celtic Park holding a shirt of Rangers’ fierce rivals (with his name and number on the back) in an apparent signing image ahead of a potential move across the city.

### **The Verdict: Shocking move**

This is a shocking move – it is no secret that there is a [strong divide](https://punditarena.com/football/thepateam/explained-the-bitter-religious-divide-behind-celticrangers-rivalry/) between Rangers and Celtic in Glasgow, and it is not often that a player makes the switch across the city. Liam Burt is [another who has done it](https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ciaran-dickson-leaked-celtic-signing-21439429) in more recent years but it is a rare occurrence.

It is surprising in the first place that Dickson departed Rangers – he was called “terrific” by Steven Gerrard after he was given his debut last November ([via Rangers News](https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/rangers-boss-raves-about-teen-duo-after-gers-debuts-in-cup-rout/)) – but he clearly wanted to seek pastures new. It looks like he has not travelled far to find them.
