# Rangers: Fans slam Leon Balogun vs Antwerp

**Glasgow Rangers fans were far from happy with the performance of Leon Balogun despite their progression to the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday.**

The Gers prevailed in another thriller against Royal Antwerp to make it to the next stage of the competition. After beating their Belgian opponents 4-3 away from home last week, they won 5-2 at Ibrox to eventually triumph 9-5 on aggregate.

With James Tavernier out injured, Steven Gerrard decided to play Balogun at right-back. It was clear he was unfamiliar with the position and Jordan Lukaku caused him all kind of problems. He was replace at half-time by Nathan Patterson – the 19-year-old scored within a minute and the Gers won the second-half 4-1.
