# Rangers: Rivaldo suggests Ianis Hagi could move to Liverpool

**[Former World Cup winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rivaldo/erfolge/spieler/3372) Rivaldo believes Glasgow Rangers’ Ianis Hagi could join Steven Gerrard at Liverpool if the Gers boss moves to Anfield.**

### **Rivaldo makes Hagi claim**

Gerrard has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds ([Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-jurgen-klopp-steven-gerrard-23577524)), with whom he spent the biggest part of his career as a player.

Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu [has now revealed](https://twitter.com/Emishor/status/1370345660944367617) that the ex-Barcelona star believes Hagi could follow Gerrard to Liverpool if the 40-year-old does return to his former club, saying:

> *“I am sure Gerrard will go to Liverpool one day and maybe Ianis Hagi could make the step with him and follow him to Anfield.”*

### **Remains to be seen**

Gerrard seems destined to manage the six-time European champions at some point in the future, given his [indelible links to Liverpool](https://web.archive.org/web/20120315021041/http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/first-team/player/8-steven-gerrard). However, it would be more surprising if Hagi were to follow him to Anfield. In his first full campaign at Ibrox, the £5.4m-valued 22-year-old ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ianis-hagi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/282076)) has grown in importance throughout the campaign, scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ianis-hagi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/282076)).

However, he is yet to establish himself as one of the club’s most important players, even if he has time to do so. The Premier League, and Liverpool in particular, would represent a huge increase in quality. The Romania international has plenty of work to do before warranting such a move.
