# Rangers: Fans laud Joe Aribo

**Many Glasgow Rangers fans were delighted with the performance of Joe Aribo during their comprehensive victory over Aberdeen on Saturday.**

The Gers finished the 2020/21 campaign in style with a [comfortable victory](https://www.skysports.com/football/rangers-vs-aberdeen/442634) over the Dons thanks to a Joe Lewis own-goal and a brace from Kemar Roofe. The result means that, for the first time in the history of the club, the Gers have gone a whole top-flight campaign unbeaten ([Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-record-breaking-achievements-can-24077786)), and they will be able to celebrate as they lift the trophy at Ibrox after the match.

Aribo was deployed in the unfamiliar position of [left-back](https://www.sofascore.com/aberdeen-rangers/bXsfX) with Borna Barisic [unavailable](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/rangers-gers-ibrox-steven-gerrard-borna-barisic-aberdeen-premiership-55/), and the Nigeria international put in a fantastic performance. He linked up particularly well with left-winger Ryan Kent as the Gers bossed the game.

Aribo has [come in for criticism from some Gers supporters in the past](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/rangers-fc-news/gers-ibrox-rangers-joe-aribo-old-firm-celtic/), but he proved them wrong here as his passing was [near-perfect](https://www.sofascore.com/aberdeen-rangers/bXsfX), while he also [won several duels](https://www.sofascore.com/aberdeen-rangers/bXsfX) this afternoon.
