# Rangers: Fans delighted by Josh McPake news

**Glasgow Rangers fans are delighted after it was confirmed that Josh McPake has signed a new contract at the club.**

The Gers have been preparing for the new season by tying several of their players down to new contracts. Allan McGregor ([rangers.co.uk](https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/allan-mcgregor-signs-new-contract-until-2022/4bhGeI1uTjfj77wMD4k2kl)) and [Steven Davis](https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/steven-davis-signs-one-year-contract-extension/5zxkb9N33MzfWuRZlv5sP9) are both first-team members and therefore there was plenty of need to give them new deals, but McPake is an up-and-coming player who the Gers are clearly eager to hold on to. He will remain at Ibrox [until 2024](https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/josh-mcpake-signs-new-deal/373DneEBOoGLuGfMJr9BAW).

The 19-year-old has so far made just one appearance for the Gers, but he scored four goals in 23 games for Harrogate Town on loan last term ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/joshua-mcpake/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/424014)), and has now made the move to Morecambe for the 21/22 campaign. The Gers will be hoping he impresses while with the Shrimps.
