# Rangers: Stewart Robertson shares transfer plans

**Glasgow Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson has revealed that the Ibrox outfit will need to sell a couple of players over the next 12 months.**

### **Robertson reveals transfer plans**

The Gers recently revealed that they made a [£15.9m loss](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/55024741) over the last year, and that they have a £23m hole to fill in before the end of next season.

As a result, Robertson has revealed the need to move on two players soon. He [said](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/55321442) at the club’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday:

> *“We have to really focus on that over the next 12 months,”*
>
> *“We know for the business model of the club we need to start moving one or two players a year.*
>
> *“It won’t be a big turnover in the squad but that is something we need to do and something we’re really focused on for the summer.”*

### **Worrying**

While many Rangers supporters will be aware of the need to move players on – it is also an inevitability in Scotland, even for them and Celtic – it is not good news to hear it coming from a member of the club’s board. The 54-time Scottish champions have encountered plenty of financial problems over the past decade, even [going into administration in 2012](https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-17026172) – they will be eager to avoid a repeat situation.

The Gers do have a number of valuable players on their books. According to a recent article [by The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2187307/2020/11/17/rangers-squad-ranking-47th-in-the-world/), Alfredo Morelos is valued at £13m, while Ryan Kent could even pull in £18m. Losing them, though, will not help on the pitch.
