# Rangers reject bids for Alfredo Morelos

**Rangers are in a great position to secure silverware in Steven Gerrard’s first season in Scottish football, with his biggest test coming up tomorrow against Celtic.**

Steven Gerrard couldn’t have wished for a better start as Rangers boss having enjoyed an incredible start to proceedings in the current campaign. And, he even worked his magic on the transfer front yesterday, [as according to the Express, Rangers are in advanced talks with Alfredo Morelos over a new deal.](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1011511/Rangers-Dynamo-Kiev-Alfredo-Morelos)

Dynamo Kiev were ready to offer £7 million and sounded out Alfredo Morelos’ camp but were told the player wants to sign a new deal at Ibrox, with Bordeaux, who were preparing a £5 million bid, getting the same answer.

And, talks are already at an advanced stage with Morelos, who will be handed a significant wage rise, extending his existing contract which is due to run until 2021.

### **THE VERDICT:**

Alfredo Morelos has been on absolute fire so far this season as he just can’t seem to stop scoring goals, with a new contract being just rewards for his efforts.

Indeed, Steven Gerrard has already made a number of positive changes since making the move to Scotland, but securing an agreement with the 22-year-old may just be his best piece of business yet, with the Bluenoses in advanced talks with the forward.
