# Rangers: Ross Wilson identifies three players as the club’s prize assets

**Rangers [new Director of Football](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/agm-2019-dave-king-speech/) Ross Wilson has named the three players who he feels are the club’s most important assets.**

[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/wilson-identifies-the-three-rangers-prize-assets/) reported that Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Glen Kamara were identified by Wilson as the three main assets in Steven Gerrard’s squad.

The new recruitment chief had been asked by [departing chairman](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/11870636/dave-king-rangers-chairman-to-step-down-in-new-year) Dave King to provide an estimated valuation of the players at Ibrox in the latter’s speech at this week’s AGM, as per [rangers.co.uk](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/agm-2019-dave-king-speech/), with Wilson projecting that the squad could eventually be worth a combined £103m.

Morelos, who cost Rangers just £1m when he joined in 2017 (as per [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-new-boy-alfredo-morelos-10650376)), has become an integral member of the team since then, scoring his [70th goal for the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962/verein/124) in the 2-0 win at Livingston this month.

Ahead of Thursday’s Europa League trip to Feyenoord, the Colombian had made [117 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962/verein/124) for the ‘Gers, giving him a return of 0.6 goals per game in his time at the club, with [22 goals in 26 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdaten/spieler/338962) this season prior to the clash at De Kuip.

He is valued at £6.75m by [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/profil/spieler/338962) but, with Celtic selling Moussa Dembele for £19.7m in 2018 (as per [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45377409)) after scoring [51 goals in 94 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/moussa-dembele/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/229004) (0.54 goals per game), Rangers could justifiably demand upwards of £20m for Morelos.

Winger Kent, who was [on loan from Liverpool last season](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-ryan-kent/) before completing a £7m transfer this summer (as per [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49552351)), [scored six goals and set up 10 more in 43 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279457) in 2018/19.

He [hadn’t found the net in eight matches this term](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdaten/spieler/279457) before [scoring twice against Hamilton](https://www.skysports.com/football/hamilton-vs-rangers/411299) on Sunday, although a return of two goals and [an assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/leistungsdaten/spieler/279457) from nine games is disappointing when compared with fellow winger Sheyi Ojo claiming [five of each from 23 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sheyi-ojo/leistungsdaten/spieler/236510) – albeit that the latter being [on loan from Liverpool](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48674600) would preclude him from being named as a Rangers asset.

Midfielder Kamara cost just £50,000 when he signed from Dundee last January (as per [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47081705)) but he has already made [36 Rangers appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glen-kamara/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/242632) and has stood out with his passing ability.

He has the second highest passing accuracy rate (91.9%) among the Light Blues’ squad in their European campaign this season and only four players completed more passes per game than his 43 ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/306/Show/Scotland-Rangers) figures correct prior to Thursday’s clash against Feyenoord).

Morelos’ exceptional goal return makes him a very attractive asset among Rangers’ squad, while the club should also be able to reap a hefty profit on Kamara if he is sold in the future, assuming he continues to deliver upon the figures he has posted so far at Ibrox – he is currently valued at £765,000 by [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glen-kamara/profil/spieler/242632).

Although Kent’s age of 23 suggests that he may not be far off entering the prime years of his career, his form this season would indicate that there is more he can do to justify Wilson’s naming of him as one of the three main assets at the club.
