**Wolves fans exploded with delight after news broke that striker Raul Jimenez has signed a new contract with the club.**

The Athletic’s [Tim Spiers](https://twitter.com/TimSpiers/status/1312392470949396480) revealed that the Mexican talisman had put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the Molineux, which extends his stay in the West Midlands until June [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raul-jimenez/profil/spieler/206040).

Jimenez has been an absolute delight for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side since his [£30m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47811338) move from Benfica last summer, having initially joined the club on a [season-long loan](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47811338). He has gone on to score 46 goals and provided 18 assists from 103 appearances, as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/raul-jimenez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/206040/verein/543).

Last season, he was described as “world-class” by the Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who stated that Jimenez is good enough to play for Pep Guardiola’s side, cited by [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/696222/world-class-wolves-raul-jimenez-man-city-ilkay-gundogan/).
