# Real Madrid: Fans react to Sergio Ramos presentation

**Sergio Ramos made his [618th appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/real-madrid/rekordspieler/verein/418) for Real Madrid against Leganes on Wednesday night, and the Bernabeu paid tribute to the central defender prior to the match starting, after he became Spain’s all-time leading appearance maker earlier this month.**

The 33-year-old, who is Real’s [fourth-highest appearance maker](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/real-madrid/rekordspieler/verein/418), has now played [186 times](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7566483/Sergio-Ramos-Spains-capped-player-168-appearances-ahead-Iker-Casillas.html) for the national team after his outing against Norway on October 12th, overtaking goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The centre-back has also become the [most-capped European outfield player](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7566483/Sergio-Ramos-Spains-capped-player-168-appearances-ahead-Iker-Casillas.html) in the history of the game, surpassing Latvian legend Vitalijs Astafjevs.

He was greeted by huge applause at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night, with even opponents Leganes paying respect to the Spaniard.

It was to be the start of a memorable evening for Ramos, who scored in a 5-0 thrashing over Luis Cembranos’ men, which sees Los Blancos remain hot on the heels of rivals Barcelona, who currently sit top of the pile after 10 matches.

Here’s how fans reacted to Ramos’ presentation on Twitter:
