Yet more revelations for Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern to deal with this evening as [Duncan Castles at ONE World Sports claims](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) superstar stopper Thibaut Courtois IS ready to leave the club.

The Belgian was identified by former manager Jose Mourinho as the long-term heir to Blues stalwart between the sticks Petr Cech last season, though has suffered injuries and a dip in form.

He missed three months with an injury [reportedly](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) picked up in a training session with goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, whose unusual methods are [believed](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) to have proved unpopular.

Having excelled during a three-year loan stint with Atletico Madrid, the 23-year old custodian has been linked with a blockbuster return to La Liga.

Real Madrid are said to have [lined](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/real-madrid-raid-chelsea-thibaut-7639599) up him as a successor to Iker Casillas, having failed to land David De Grea from Manchester United over the course of last summer.

The report [claims](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) the Belgium star is open to the prospect of returning to the Spanish capital, if the two clubs can agree a deal between them.

Castles [writes](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) that *Los Blancos* have made [initial approaches](https://www.oneworldsports.com/stories/thibaut-courtois-open-return-la-liga) to decision makers behind the scenes in West London as a contingency plan should they once again to prize De Gea from Old Trafford.

Following the eleventh hour collapse of his move over the summer, the Spaniard penned a new long-term deal at the Theatre of Dreams.
