[![de gea222](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/de-gea222-500x324.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/de-gea222.jpg?admin)Manchester United fans have let out a large groan in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon, after reports from the continent suggested it could be deja vu next summer.

[*Fichajes* exclaim that Real Madrid remain extremely keen on signing Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea,](https://www.fichajes.com/liga/real-madrid-regreso-al-culebron-david-de-gea_95189)despite embarrassingly seeing a deal fall apart on Deadline Day of the previous window.

[*Metro* adds quotes from former *Marca* editor Eduardo Inda to the frame](https://metro.co.uk/2015/10/20/manchester-united-goalkeeper-david-de-gea-still-a-top-transfer-target-for-real-madrid-report-5451190/), as he believes the Spanish giants want competition for Keylor Navas.

> ‘Real Madrid is proposed to sign De Gea next season. Although Keylor Navas’ performance is very good, they want to have two goalkeepers … for next year.’

United fans at the bar have expressed their disscontempt at the reports, after enduring a turbulent rollercoaster ride over the summer- which was full of twists, turns and sensational developments but appeared to end when De Gea penned a new deal.

However, it appears there’s a new chapter to come in this tale.
