**For a while it looked as though the Premier League [may not be returning](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11264961/premier-league-not-null-void-762m-bill-tv/), but developments in recent days mean that Liverpool fans can hold on to their hopes of being crowned champions of England.**

Of course, the coronavirus pandemic has seen professional football across the continent suspended due to it not being safe to proceed, but it looks as though a sliver of normality may be about to return. Germany’s top flight, the Bundesliga, will return on [Saturday](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/07/sports/germany-soccer-bundesliga-coronavirus.html), becoming the first major European league to do so, and now there has been a development in England as well.

On Monday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that sport could be played from [1 June](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11986561/coronavirus-pro-sport-in-england-could-resume-from-june-1) and a report subsequently emerged saying that the FA has [told](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/premier-league-wants-neutral-venue-plan-ditched-t8swnl2cj) the Premier League that voiding the campaign is not an option.

As you can imagine, this has gone down an absolute treat with many Liverpool supporters and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
