# Liverpool: Fans would love the club to sign Sergio Tonali

**According to reports, Liverpool are very keen on Italian Sergio Tonali, and the latest news has caused debate between Liverpool fans.**

SportMediaSet are reporting via [footballitalia](https://www.football-italia.net/152265/inter-put-%E2%82%AC40m-down-tonali), that Serie A giants Inter Milan are currently favourites to sign the player and have already offered Brescia £35 million.

The centre midfielder has had a solid season in Italy’s top flight, managing one goal and five assists, via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/343501/Show/Sandro-Tonali), whilst also averaging 2.1 key passes per game and 1.4 successful dribbles a game.

He also looks to be able to help out the defence as well, as he has averaged so far 1.2 tackles a game and one interception a game. One fan even compared him to an Italian legend as he said, ‘Young Pirlo’.

These are very good statistics for a 19 year-old playing in a top division and could be a great signing for Liverpool’s future. Captain Jordan Henderson is 29 years-old which is still young, via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/26/Show/England-Liverpool), but bringing in someone like the Italian would give the captain some rest if needed when he gets a bit older and also add some great squad depth to a strong side whilst maintaining the Reds dominance at the top of England’s top flight.

Here is what fans have said about the rumours:

> [@ojash\_ynwa](https://twitter.com/ojash_ynwa?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) thoughts? Considering Fabinho is already a starting DM and Tonali would want to go to a club where a starting position is secure. [https://t.co/T01UwJUbz6](https://t.co/T01UwJUbz6)
