# Report delivers the kind of transfer line Celtic fans won’t like hearing

**Life as a Celtic fan has been nothing short of a celebration for the punters in the Transfer Tavern ever since Brendan Rodgers took over his boyhood heroes around a year ago.**

An unbeaten, Treble-winning season followed and the Bhoys in the bar are eager to kick the new campaign off as soon as possible and continue the good times at Parkhead. Still, reports from the [Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) have proved somewhat concerning for our resident Hoops.

They [claim](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) Premier League side Southampton have become the latest side to express an interest in the potential signing of Celtic Park hero Stuart Armstrong. The Scotland international became a revelation under Rodgers and played an instrumental role in the Hoops’ success last season, though is entering the final year of his deal.

The classy central midfielder is also [thought](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) to have been tracked by the likes of [West Bromwich Albion and Brighton](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/), with the Saints now [understood](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) to have thrown their hats into the proverbial ring.

No offers are [said](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) to have been received for the 25-year-old former Dundee United man, though the SPFL champions are [reportedly](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1232883/southampton-premier-league-celtic-stuart-armstrong/) bracing themselves for some as the window kicks into gear.

As you can well imagine, considering his exploits last year, the idea of seeing Armstrong up and leave is a scary one indeed for the punters clad in green and white propping up our bar.

**Thoughts?**
