# Revealed: 34% of Everton fans surprisingly don’t want Allardyce to make striker swoop in January

**Toffees fans here in the Tavern are urging for some new arrivals in January, with their new man big Sam looking to dip into the market.** Everton have suffered through their toughest start to a season for as long as many of the fans here in the Tavern can remember, after falling down into the unfamiliar realms of a relegation battle.

A huge sense of excitement has become evident between fans here in the pub, after the [Mail Online reported](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5147571/Everton-enquire-Arsenal-forward-Theo-Walcott.html) that Sam Allardyce had enquired about acquiring the services of Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, after struggling to force a way into the Gunners’ starting 11.

Of course, this is a move that would bring happiness upon the faces of most Everton fans, with a forward desperately needed. [Our Landlord here in the Tavern decided to throw up a poll](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premiership/everton/landing-england-man-in-january-would-give-allardyce-evertons-missing-piece-agreed/) for the Everton supporters to decide on whether they’d like to see Walcott at the club, which resulted in a convincing 66% of supporters wanting the gaffer to do everything in his will to sign the pace-man.

This comes as no surprise at all. He offers that dimension of pace that the sluggish Everton attack has been missing so far, with his proven goal-scoring talents at all levels set to please fans, while his constant runs beyond the last defender will benefit the supply lines of fellow Englishman Wayne Rooney.

So, for a side that is crying out for a natural goal-scorer with pace to burn, Walcott is the ideal target for an expected low price.

**Everton fans, thoughts?**
