# Leeds: Robin Koch expected to miss Liverpool game

**Leeds United’s Robin Koch is set to miss the Premier League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday night after suffering a concussion against Manchester United at the weekend.**

### The Lowdown: Koch hurt against Man United

The Whites were beaten 4-2 at home to their fierce rivals on Sunday afternoon as they become increasingly embroiled in a relegation scrap.

Koch only lasted 31 minutes at Elland Road because of a [concussion](https://motleedsnews.com/news/leeds-united-ace-robin-koch-set-to-miss-liverpool-clash-could-miss-spurs-game-too-report/), having initially tried to battle on, with Junior Firpo replacing him in the team.

As Leeds prepare for a daunting trip to Liverpool on Wednesday night, an update regarding Koch’s availability has emerged.

### The Latest: Koch set to miss Liverpool game

According to [Mail+](https://www.mailplus.co.uk/edition/sport/football/157112/concussion-rules-not-fit-for-purpose-say-top-clubs) \[via [MOT Leeds News](https://motleedsnews.com/news/leeds-united-ace-robin-koch-set-to-miss-liverpool-clash-could-miss-spurs-game-too-report/)\], the German is expected to miss out due to his current issue, with FA guidelines claiming that players have to rest for six days after having a concussion.

That would give Koch no time to recover for the visit to Anfield, landing Marcelo Bielsa with another selection headache.

### The Verdict: Yet another injury blow for Leeds

Leeds’ season has been ravaged by [injuries to key players](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/ausfallzeiten/verein/399), with the likes of Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford out for long periods, among others.

This is yet another setback for Bielsa ahead of such a tough assignment against Liverpool, with Koch having previously been [hailed](https://www.footballinsider247.com/magnificent-whelan-drools-over-leeds-new-boy-he-hails-as-a-big-personality/) as ‘magnificent’ by club ambassador Noel Whelan, and it leaves Bielsa with a real dearth of options in midfield.

It seems likely that Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw may have to partner one another, with Firpo slotting in at left-back in place of the Northern Ireland international. It’s far from an ideal scenario against a Liverpool side on a [prolonged winning streak](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/spielplandatum/verein/31) and with the top of the table [firmly in their sights](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/tabelle/wettbewerb/GB1).
