# Rodgers may ‘collide’ with top boss to secure another Celtic deal

**Life amongst the Celtic fans has proved a happy one this season, with Brendan Rodgers’ green and white army conquering all before them in Scotland.**

Closing in on an unbeaten campaign domestically, there have been only a few days when the Bhoys in the bar of the Transfer Tavern have been in low spirits this term.

So, little changed today following reports from [the Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/). They claim the SPFL giants are keen on keeping loan star Patrick Roberts in Paradise beyond the course of his deal, one that runs out in just a few weeks time.

The England U20 star moved to Glasgow last January in an 18-month deal and has proved a popular figure at Parkhead, even scoring against parent club Manchester City in the Champions League.

As a result of his exciting outings, the Hoops are [understood](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/) to be willing to pay [£500k](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/) to keep the 20-year-old another season, though Pep Guardiola could [reportedly](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/) have other ideas.

The Spaniard is [thought](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/) to be eager to take the former Fulham man on City’s pre-season tour of America in order to judge if he’s ready for the first-team at the Etihad, though this report [suggests](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3531312/celtic-willing-to-pay-manchester-city-500000-to-loan-patrick-roberts-for-a-third-year/) Rodgers and Guardiola could ‘collide’ over his future.

Such is the popular nature of Roberts’ standing in the bar, the Celtic fans are hoping he’s kept on next season.

**Thoughts?**
