# Rodgers open to deal in what could be emotional move for Celtic man

**With the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping for a big deadline day deal to strengthen their ranks for the Champions League, reports of a potential exit have proved rather underwhelming.**

Indeed, the [Scottish Sun](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) claim former Hoops chief Neil Lennon is working on a deal to bring Liam Henderson back to Hibernian before the close of the window. The 21-year-old is [reportedly](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) available after being told first-team minutes may be hard to come by.

While Brendan Rodgers is [understood](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) to be a fan of the midfielder, the wealth of options he has in central berths means it may be hard for the Scotland U21 star to get much in the way of game time.

A move to Preston is [believed](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) to have broken down earlier this summer and Rodgers is [said](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) to be open to letting him leave on loan, with Hibs [reportedly](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1497834/hibs-liam-henderson-celtic-neil-lennon/) keen.

Henderson is a legend at Easter Road for the club he supported as a boy, having taken the corner from which David Gray famously scored the winner in the Scottish Cup final of 2016 at Hampden Park.

A hugely popular figure amongst the Bhoys in our bar, our punters clad in green and white wouldn’t begrudge Hendo a move away to bank some much-needed experience at this stage of his career.

**Landlord’s Verdict:**

Henderson can only benefit from a move back to Hibs. A hometown hero and someone who could inflict damage on Celtic’s rivals – such as Aberdeen and Rangers – the move would certainly suit all parties.

**Thoughts?**
