# Russian giants lining up move for Everton fan favourite

![](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/fellaini-150x150.jpg)He is a firm favourite in the Football Transfer Tavern and it seems he is fast becoming one of the hottest properties in football as [Marouane Fellaini](https://www.transfertavern.com/team/premiership) is getting yet more attention, this time from Zenit Saint Petersburg.

[ESPN](https://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1253066?cc=5739) report that the Belgium international has placed himself firmly on the Russian’s radar after scoring eight times in the clubs opening 15 games. He is set to be subject of a bid in the January transfer window, with the player himself stating that despite signing a contract until 2016 “I am just starting my fifth season at [Everton](https://www.transfertavern.com/team/everton), this will be one of my last. I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship.”

Chelsea are also reportedly preparing a £30 million bid for the player they have identified as someone who can make a real difference in their struggling side.

For his part, Toffees boss David Moyes has responded bullishly to the rumours stating that there will be a ‘big price on his head,’ and given the form of the player they paid £15 million for in 2008, that is no surprise. However this may not deter clubs with deep pockets, with Chelsea lining up a bid for the player Mikel Arteta recently claimed as one of the most difficult midfielders to play against and capable to “lead the club to a top four finish.”

### **Would this spell disaster for Everton or should Moyes capitalise on the player and invest once more as he so often does? Vote in our polls below.**
