Rangers supporters have been slightly downbeat in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side’s four-match winning run in the Scottish Premiership come to an abrupt end on Saturday as they went down 3-1 at home to St Johnstone.
Graeme Murty’s men twice got past Aberdeen as well as successes over Ross County and Hibernian to suggest that the Gers were on their way up after weeks of uncertainty, but things came crashing back down at Ibrox on Saturday after a poor performance from the Scottish giants. The hosts did take the lead through Alfredo Morales after five minutes, but that was as good as it got as goals from Blair Alston, Denny Johnstone, and Graham Cummins sealed a deserved victory for Tommy Wright’s side, who in turn instigated Rangers’ fall to third place in the Scottish Premiership table.
Subsequently, there have been many disappointed Gers fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are looking ahead to the rapidly-approaching January transfer window, and thus who their team could look to sign to bolster their ranks ahead of the second half of the season.
And one man who is reportedly open to the idea of moving to Rangers is Norwich City striker Steven Naismith, who spent five years at Ibrox between 2007 and 2012, in which time he helped the club to three Scottish Premier League titles.
