Celtic have certainly enjoyed their football for a number of years, having been able to win title after title without being too largely troubled by their opponents.
The Bhoys are currently in the process of trying to beat their record of nine-in-a-row from the Jock Stein era and are well on the way, having already secured seven so far.
Admittedly, there is still a long way to go and despite their wobbles earlier in the season, they continue to largely dominate Scottish football with relative ease, having an aggregate total of 127 more points than the runners-up over the last six years, as per The Scotsman.
Celtic had a team full of stars in the late 90’s to the early 00’s and throughout the decade they helped them lift five trophies when the likes of Old Firm rivals Rangers were constantly battling them for the main prize.
Chris Sutton, John Hartson, Stilian Petrov, Neil Lennon, Jackie McNamara, Johan Mjallby and Magnus Hedman all played some role in helping the Hoops to become as dominant as possible, however, one man would have stuck out more than others.
A moment in time: Henrik Larsson
One man that many Celtic fans loved and adored during his time at Celtic Park was Henrik Larsson.
The Swede became a hero for many of those associated with the club as his goals helped the club to a number of unlikely successes.
Larsson, who arrived at Celtic in 1997 from Feyenoord, amassed an impressive 243 goals in 315 appearances across all competitions (per Soccerbase), which helped the team to pick up nine honours during his stay.
The striker helped to guide the club to their most successful period within European competition as well, with famous results as well as taking the Hoops to a UEFA Cup final in 2003, in which he scored a brace, only to be crowned runners-up after being beaten by Porto 3-2 in extra time.
As mentioned, Celtic have continued to dominate their opponents domestically, however, their European dreams have been shattered every year with disappointing performances.
If they were able to have a player of Larsson’s ability in the side once again, who knows where they might be now.
