A move for £225k-rated Irishman could prove to be a bargain for Celtic

Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are biting their nails ahead of their Scottish Cup final against Motherwell at Hampden Park.

The Hoops will look to defend their trophy this weekend having already wrapped up their seventh consecutive Scottish Premiership. Brendan Rodgers has masterminded his side to another dominant season in the league, but the Hoops again struggled in Europe.

Reinforcements are needed if they are to challenge on multiple fronts again next year with Rangers set to strengthen heavily following the arrival of Steven Gerrard. If Rodgers is to get the better of his former player – the right signings must be made.

One man who could add some depth to the Celtic ranks is Preston North End forward – Sean Maguire. The 24-year-old has netted 13 goals in all competitions this season but is valued at just £225k according to Transfermarkt. The former Cork City forward is primarily a number nine but can also play on the right wing.

The two-time Irish champion could be a massive hit in SPL after proving he can score goals in the Championship. Following in Moussa Dembele’s footsteps, Maguire could be scoring for fun at Celtic Park.

Potentially available at a great price, Rodgers would be foolish to ignore him.

Celtic fans, thoughts?
