Alfredo Morelos to be offered new deal

There has been a lot of change at Rangers this summer, however, they are determined to keep hold of one of their star men.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, the Light Blues are set to offer Alfredo Morelos a new contract as they look to fend off interest for their striker.

The 22-year-old has started the season in fine form and has seen the likes of Bordeaux make an offer for him, although it is claimed there are other clubs in France also keen.

His performances have seen him earn his first international call-up for Colombia for the friendlies against Argentina and Venezuela.

Steven Gerrard is desperate to keep his £2.03million-rated ace, as per Transfermarkt, as he is vital to his plans and has also expressed his desire publicly to keep Morelos at Ibrox.

Rangers have added Umar Sadiq and Kyle Lafferty this summer to their striking options, however, the South American is arguably their best frontman.

The Verdict:

With just a couple of days left of the transfer window, Rangers will be hoping they can keep hold of the 22-year-old.

Morelos has proved to be one of the best players for the Light Blues during his time at the club and has already become one of the fans favourites in his short time in Scotland.

The offer of a new contract would be a great step in making sure they can keep hold of him, although it remains to be seen what the South American chooses to do.
