Celtic fans here in the Tavern are waiting to see if Brendan Rodgers brings a player in before the end of this month. Indeed, the Hoops could do with making a move this month, as Rangers have already made improvements on their squad.
The Hoops have made a slow start to the summer transfer window, which has caused for many of our local residents to look on in concern. And, with Rangers strengthening in preparation for the challenges of next season, Celtic will need to get a move on before the end of this month if they’re serious about securing another treble.
Although, Brendan Rodgers will have his eyes set firmly on securing a couple of players over the course of the summer, with an addition being vital before the end of June. Indeed, pre-season is just around the corner, so the Hoops should be looking to make early moves on the transfer front in order to mount a serious title challenge.
With that in mind, Celtic absolutely must make this deal to save June…
Massimo Luongo was named in Australia’s 23-man squad for the World Cup and will be playing alongside Tom Rogic, with a move to Parkhead bolstering Celtic and improving the midfield chemistry.
A superb passer, Luongo would fit in well with Rodgers’ style, and with his Queens Park Rangers future in doubt, he may well establish himself as a star in Glasgow next season if he makes the move.
So, with assists and goals being ever-present in his game, the Hoops may finally be able to make a name for themselves on the European stage.
